After our Friday or Saturday Shabbat services we have an oneg shabbat or kiddush, consisting of soft drinks and kosher pareve or dairy snacks (cookies, cakes, fruit or vegetable platters, etc.). An oneg or kiddush need not be expensive to be haimish and the oneg/kiddush coordinator would be happy to partner you with someone to co-sponsor one upon request.
