Speakers Bureau
Speakers Bureau participants talk to (mostly small) groups about being
gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered and Jewish. The Speakers Bureau has a two-fold mission: to talk to
mostly straight Jewish groups about being GLBT; and to talk to mostly GLBT groups about being Jewish.
Although we have adult audiences, many are Confirmation classes (10th grade). Although many Speakers
Bureau participants were initially nervous about getting up in front of a group of strangers,
most became comfortable pretty quickly and found the experience rewarding. New people are always paired
with more experienced speakers, and you can even observe a session, to see if you want to get involved.
